Some new stuff

I got a job!! a second one I guess you can say. I will now be selling insurance for American Family starting March 6. It's a part-time gig for some extra income that will hopefully still give me time to spend with all the people I care about. The interview was great, considering I had stayed out drinking the night before with the coworkers and had a got a haircut right before I got there and was 10 minutes late. They hired me on the spot anyway. I hadn't gotten a chance to shower so I was worried they'd see a small hair here and there that i wasn't able to wipe off quickly before I left.

I'm a fortunate fool! Hopefully this means I'm one step closer to independence, a home or apartment of our own for the fiancee and I ... and spud!!!
Name suggestions anyone? still don't know if it's a little guy or a little girl.

Anyway it's now 43 days till the Wedding!
17 days till the bachelor party
18 days till Fiancee's birthday
18 days till Fiancee's bachelorette party/baby shower

It's been a while

It's February ... I skipped over tons; including holidays, events, work issues and more on this blog. I'm currently housesitting for a friend in the suburbs ... no cable and quiet neighbors I decided to update ... so much has happened but I'll keep it brief.
2006 is going to be big
To be honest I don't think the word marriage was even in my lexicon at the end of '05. So much had happened that year, I thought I'd just be setting the table in '06 for a good '07. All I wanted was to be financially stable and out of my parents' house by the end of the year. Now, I'm going to be the co-head of a household, a father ... a husband ... son-in-law ... brother-in-law ... uncle all in a couple of months. A scary idea, but one that I'm very excited about ... time will tell if I'll be a good dad. :)
Funny how what I was most scared of at the end of last year ... growing up ... I'm now being nudged toward. I guess it just worked out in the end.

Things to do ...
Second job ... (have a temporary one now. have a job interview this week, I need something better)
Take care of spud's momma ... (Trying my best--she's demanding. ;) )
Wedding stuff .... (ugggh, it's getting done.)
Move out .... (one thing at a time, I guess)

BTW ... Spud's momma got me a rabbit for christmas, her name is Zanahoria (carrot), and she's a good girl, but very aggressive and fast!

About the rest: family, health, work is all going swell ... nothing to complain about

I went book-buying crazy today at NorthEastern Illinois University. My brother spotted a library book sale, similar to those at crazy old Eastern, and promptly called me. In the end, I was much happier with what I was able to steal for a mere $10.
Dostoevsky!!! I now have four books of his, to add to my "Brother's Karamazov." A shame considering he's one of my favorite authors. I purchased "the Idiot," "Crime and Punishment," (which I really enjoyed years and years ago) and a smaller book that has "Notes from the Underground," "White Nights," "The Dream of A Ridiculous Man" and "The House of the Dead."

As happy as I was about that, I also purchased "Burn My Heart on Wounded Knee," "The Divine Comedy," A journalism book on the Muckrakers (fun times!), "Beowulf"--even though I've already read it; and the one that I think will be the best .... "I Did Not Interview the Dead," which appears to be a book on the Holocaust or of others victimized by others in death camps. I'm morbid, One shouldn't be this excited to want to read such a sad topic. But I can't wait.

In other news I guess, my review is coming up withing a week, wish me luck .. I hope I get a nice raise.
I filled out an IDP, which means nothing to any of you, but it basically means I want to switch departments eventually and want to set up goals to achieve that. Hopefully I'll be working with graphics within two years. We'll see, It's now or never.
I'm no longer the new guy, since they hired a new guy ... but he's older, so I'll probably still be considered the new guy at work.

Hope everything goes well for all of youI

Bubba, my powerbook, will be back from Apple ER soon. It's been both annoying and liberating not having my compy, even though it's only been about three to four weeks.  Everything is swell I guess. Will elaborate when Bubba comes home.
